Vasili Yang (1875-1954), also spelled as Yan or Ian is the pen name of Vassily Grigoryevich Yanchevetsky or Yancevicki. Volume one was originally published in Russian in 1939 and it won the USSR state prize in 1942. Part 2 of the trilogy on Batu, sucessor of Djenghis Khan was published in 1942 and part three ' the last sea' in 1955. The writer lived and worked in a.o. Turkestan, Romania and Tuva. |
