Folio. 55 etched aquatint plates, drawn and etched by Pyne and aquatinted by J.Hill. The plates show scenes of everyday life and groups of people, from foresters at work to slate quarries and soldiers in camp. This is a later reissue of 55 of the plates of Pyne's Microcosm, a work started in 1803. The selection of plates here offered ranges from 1803-1805 (publ. Pyne & Nattes) to 1822-1824 (publ. R. Ackermann).
