First edition. 2 volume set \nIn 1964, two photographers from Hamburg, Max Scheler and Astrid Kirchherr, travelled to England to photograph the Beatles who were busy filming A Hard Day's Night. They were also to visit Liverpool to photograph The Cavern Club and homes and parents of the Beatles. The Beatles approved this assignment because Astrid was their dear friend who had been engaged to Stuart Sutcliffe, bass player of the early Beatles, who had died tragically in Hamburg. The Beatles were household names by the time of this assignment. With unrivalled access, their cameras focused on the Beatles and the mania surrounding them. This is the first time that these photographs, unearthed from Astrid and Max's personal archive, have been presented to the world.\nBoth are personally autographed by Max Scheler and Astrid Kirchherr.
