Naomi Jackson Groves (1910-2001) was a Canadian painter, art historian and linguist. Born in Montreal, she studied modern languages at McGill University and later received a PhD in German Philology from Harvard University in 1950. She became a leading expert on the work of Ernst Barlach, translating several of his writings and publishing this comprehensive study of his life and art. Groves also produced her own artwork and served as professor of Fine Arts at McMaster University.
