This is the seminal work on corporate identity, written by the late Wally Olins, a designer and entrepreneur who founded the world-famous design agency, Wolff Olins, and specialized in corporate and brand identites as a value-adding component of business.
Olins was one of the first design practioners to classify and codify the logic behind corporate identity --what we now often refer to as branded or organisational identities. Olins moved the discussion beyond colours and logos to a holistic, marketing and societal level, marrying theory with practice. The book is rich in visuals that illustrate key concepts and successful identities that have become familiar to most consumers in the high street and in the media, and which occupy space and seek our attention in our public and domestic environments. He begins with a historic overview of how identities evolved over time and then discusses many different case studies liberally illustrated with graphic illustrations. This is a good clean copy and a 'must-have' for all designers and marketers who are involved in the business of branding, identity and housestyle development. |
