In the introduction Reshotko briefly appeals to stylometric considerations and to the testimony of Aristotle to support her suspicion that the views she presents 'did originate with the historical Socrates' (p. 11). The introduction also makes it clear that Reshotko will be trying to extract or reconstruct a positive philosophy from a particular group of dialogues that can in some useful sense be regarded as 'Socratic'.
