Op de Beeck combines banal and decorative objects, everyday postures and traditional poses, nature and culture into fascinating environments. Of his artistic work Op de Beeck has written: “The works are a commentary on our tragic-comic human condition, on how we manipulate our living space, in things great and small, in the manner of a stage set, and on how in this anthropomorphized environment we attempt to ward off our irrelevance and mortality with rituals and habits.The publication accompanies the exhibition at Kunstraum Dornbirn.
