The album presents the work of the most prominent Russian/Soviet artists over the period from the 1920's into the 1990'sCollage as an artistic method played prominent role in the Russian avant-garde. The artists of the Russian Empire were particularly sensitive to the experiments with image and texture. Russian Cubo-Futurism deconstructed the world of objects in order to reassemble them within a new iconographic montage. The later Soviet propaganda collages contained more simple visual elements, accessible to the broad public. Photomontage was widely used in USS: for posters, newspapers, advertisements, even books.
