| Meer info | The physician Rufus of Ephesus, 1st/2nd century AD (probably in the time of Trajan), wrote in Greek on a variety of medical topics, including little-treated subjects such as patient care. He was particularly influential in the Greek East. Consequently, part of his work has survived only in Arabic translation. This work, the Quaestiones medicinales, mainly focuses on the way in which a doctor can obtain information from a patient by asking specific questions and thus provides a nice insight into medical practice at the beginning of our era. Greek text with extensive critical apparatus and indices. This update of Gärtner's 1962 edition by the Akademie Verlag in Berlin (with commentary) is the standard edition of this work.
