| Meer info | This publication is the result of a unique collaboration between organisations that operate from within the guidance of our Ancestors: Foundation Bigi Bon, the St. Eustatius Afrikan Burial Ground Alliance, and AFRO Magazine. It contains 12 remarkable stories written by participants of the Mondriaan family heritage project "Remember Statia: Tracing Our Origins". All of them have Ancestors originating from St. Eustatius (Statia). Frederick Calmes, who was Artist-in-Residence in Statia in August 2024, created 12 artworks that beautifully reflect the spiritual connection with our Ancestors. Besides the 12 stories the magazine contains 2 poems, 3 editorials, and 12 stories from Statia's ancestral history written from the perspective of the descendants. |
