Loosely inserted two large color photos on the exhibition, printed on Kodak + 6 smaller b/w photos ('Ventura, d.FA 2350 1/6 Traits d'Esprit' printed on strip mounted at the top of cardboard) by Ventura tipped-in on cardboard. *In her work, Júlia Ventura (born 1952) explores which role the photo can play in the representation of the self. Her initial work features black and white photos of herself in emotion-filled poses. In later work, in ingenious photos of her fingerprint which she adapts using all kinds of methods and techniques, she focuses on the suggestion of authenticity that emanates from the image. |
