| Meer info | First edition, second state of these emblems on love, which belong to the best known works of emblem literature. Four different polyglot editions were published of this popular book, this one containing texts in Latin, Dutch and French. The Dutch rhymes are attributed to Anna Roemers. The Dutch and French poems on M1v and M3v are pasted over. Otto van Veen (1556-1629) was a teacher of Peter Paul Rubens. Cornelius Boel (c. 1576-c. 1621) left Antwerp for England in 1608 and settled in Richmond.
