| Meer info | Jacobina Trump heeft deelgenomen aan de Schildersweek in Domburg in 2009 Dutch-born artist Jacobina Trump studied five years at the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, Holland. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, she became a teacher at the same institution. Her professional path lead her to the experience of being a stage set designer, photographer and art director, and her current career as a teacher and fine art painter. In 1995 she moved to Miami and became an American citizen. At the same time she started to work as a fine art painter, learning from nature as an artist in residence at the Manasota Beach Club in Englewood, Florida, where she now lives and teaches at the Englewood Art Center, a division of the Ringling College of Art and Design. My way of learning is through experience. Life experiences settle deeply into the human level of consciousness and this way you can never “un-learn” things. The challenges I encountered on my path I have been solving with growing spiritual awareness. I come from a practical, sober environment and like to be grounded in the real world as much as experiencing the lightness of the spiritual, overseeing this world from afar. I use the Akashic Records for spiritual guidance because it provides non-judgmental wisdom and practical approach to daily life as we live it. I had a rather happy upbringing in the countryside South of The Netherlands. The village where I grew up, Wilhelminadorp, counted only 600 souls. My life is colored with memories of freedom and far reaching horizons, from sea and land, waving yellowing grain that seemed to continue endlessly and dark blue-green water slipping away into the future with the vanishing tides, under a low sky with the Northern light that inspired so many famous painters. I wanted to capture all of this beauty. Maybe that was the reason I expressed a desire to become a painter or at least I wanted to become good at figure drawing, like Michelangelo. The freedom of an education in the arts attracted me. Having freedom is important to me. Once at The Academy I did not understand Art at all and chose a more practical direction. Although I did not continue in a career in graphic design that I had studied for, it was the arts that helped me survive wherever I went. Still at The Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague I remember drawing portraits at a campground because I ran out of money. This turned out to be typical. I left Holland in 1995 for an extended stay in the Caribbean Islands, living three years in St.Vincent and The Grenadines, ending up in Miami with an American husband. It took ten years in Miami and five in Indianapolis before I realized the man I married was not my partner. Back in Florida, this time on the West Coast, I continued improving my daily life and the business I was running. With no other distraction than my laptop as the center of my world, I stumbled coincidentally upon my teacher Andrrea Hess who guided me into the Akashic Records. For a while I tried to resist but couldn’t help being sucked into this vast world of knowledge, energy and possibilities. It felt like this was the place were all the solutions for the problems I have experienced as a human being, could be understood. |
