The Amsterdam photographer Siebe Swart recorded the excavation and construction activities from various vantage points. In many photographs, thanks to Swart's use of digital manipulation, it is possible to follow the complete transformation of the square (and some of the buildings around it) over the course of time. Two introductions and a column provide the reader with background information about Museumplein and Swart's approach to photography.
