Combining this with lots of black & white and colour photographs, this book is a great way to take a look back at shar-pei history. One particulary nice aspect is photos of some of the legendary shar-pei - dogs such as Clown Nosed Buddha and Gold's Black Magic - if you own a shar-pei, you are bound to find at least one of it's ancestors in this book. Dit is nogal een oud boek, maar dat is een groot deel van zijn charme en interesse. Desalniettemin is het van uitstekende kwaliteit met veel informatie die vandaag de dag nog steeds relevant is. Naast de gebruikelijke tips voor de verzorging en het kiezen van een puppy, zijn er hoofdstukken over de vroege ontwikkeling en de oprichting van kennels van het ras. Door dit te combineren met veel zwart-wit- en kleurenfoto's, is dit boek een geweldige manier om terug te blikken op de geschiedenis van shar-pei. Een bijzonder mooi aspect zijn de foto's van enkele van de legendarische shar-pei - honden zoals Clown Nosed Buddha en Gold's Black Magic - als je een shar-pei bezit, zul je zeker één van zijn voorouders in dit boek vinden. |
