| Meer info | E.O Originally created as \"À la baïonnette\" (January 1915) by the cartoonist Henri Maigrot, known as \"Henriot\", collaborator of L'Illustration and father of Émile Henriot. At the beginning, Henriot provided most of the drawings, lasting 24 issues, until July 3. The magazine changed publisher on July 8, 1915 and began a new series, from August 13, it was called \"La Baïonnette\". The name referring to the bayonet and the expression \"to charge with the bayonet\". The charge was also its favorite activity since this periodical, distributed to the poilus, made fun of the \"stupidity\" of the Germans, ridiculing with caricatures Kaiser Wilhelm II or Crown Prince William of Prussia. |
