'Carnets d'une chorégraphe: Drumming & Rain'/?A Choreographer's Score: Drumming & Rain? highlights the choreographic principles underlying Drumming and Rain, two striking works created to the music of minimalist composer Steve Reich. Both choreographies are known for their energetic power and formal richness. Not only the virtuoso dance but also the refined costumes by Dries van Noten and the intelligent sets by Jan Versweyveld contribute to this. The Ictus ensemble provides the live performance of Reich's fascinating music. The publication includes not only a book of talks illustrated by numerous drawings, photographs and documents related to the productions, but also a series of DVDs on which the talks are illustrated by demonstrations and excerpts from performances.
