| Meer info | = A highlight from the cosmic sixties period, or psychedelic era. Very rare and collectible. This print is in excellent condition. It is not often that one finds such well preserved early Unicorns. The colorful screenprint (or silkscreen; or serigraph) Take a Trip to Innerspace, Unicorn 2 was published by Unicorn Bookshop in the late 1960s. Unicorn Bookshop in Brighton opened doors in summer 1967 and was owned by Bill Butler and a partner. It was famous for its eclectic stock of hippie, occult, beat and other counterculture works. It was also a leading venue for 1960s debate on freedom of speech. 'Inner Space' was published in 2 versions: 'orange to red' and 'red to blue'. Printed October '67 in 500 copies each. The red to blue version seems almost impossible to find. Condition: fine. Photos available on request. |
