Meer info = Rare photographic report of the important Round Table Conference held ("Rondetafelconferentie") in The Hague in 1949 in which at last a final agreement was met with the Dutch government on a sovereign United States of Indonesia (from 1950 Republic of Indonesia). The Round Table Conference (KMB) (Dutch: Nederlands-Indonesische Ronde Tafel Conferentie) was a meeting in The Hague, The Netherlands, from August 23 to November 2, 1949 between representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, the Netherlands, and the BFO (Meeting for Federal Consultations), which represents the different countries created by the Dutch in the Indonesian archipelago. Some key-players were: Mohammad Hatta, Sultan Hamid II, Willem Drees, Jan Herman van Royen, Mohammed Roem, J.H. van Maarseveen, Masjhoer Rifai and Tom Critchley. Prior to this conference, there were three high-level meetings between the Netherlands and Indonesia, namely the Linggarjati Agreement (1947), the Renville Agreement (1948), and the Roem-Royen Agreement (1949). This conference ended with the willingness of the Netherlands to transfer sovereignty to the Republic of the United States of Indonesia and closed on November 2, 1949 in the Dutch parliament building, with these main results: 1. The Kingdom of the Netherlands has unconditionally and irrevocably fully transferred its sovereignty over Indonesia to the Republic of the United States of Indonesia, thereby recognizing the Republic of the United States of Indonesia as an independent and sovereign state; 2. The Republic of the United States of Indonesia accepts this sovereignty on the basis of the provisions of its Constitution; constitutional provisions have been promulgated in the Kingdom of the Netherlands; 3. Sovereignty shall be submitted no later than December 30, 1949. Wrappers worn/ slightly defective in corners.
