Not in Lust en Leering, The Children's World of Learning, Van Veen Sale. Text-illustrations signed Jan Franse - his earliest Sinterklaas-illustrations were apparently published in 1919 (S. Abramsz - Sinterklaas-vertellingen (Zutphen, Van Belkum, 1919, illustrations Jan Franse). Worn copy. Pulling tabs and 'mechanisms' repaired, all plates working. First plate lacks the arm of the movable 'Black Pete"; first text-leaf frayed and reattached; tape-repairs on text-leaves. Inside spine strengthened with tape; outside pasted over with a strip of paper. |
