Dedication by former owner in both volumes (lovingly, in German, 1915). Singularly attractive luxury edition in beautiful red, soft leather designed with Jugendstil typography. The German modernist architect and designer Peter Behrens (1868-1940), founder of the Münchener Sezession, in 1904 was director of the Kunstgewerbeschule in Düsseldorf, and a distinctly modernist one. Behrens contributed to this beautiful work with a frontispice and vignettes. This is an impressionistic, autobiographical work by Cäsar Flaischlen (1864-1920).
