Richly illustrated in color and provided with three color prints on crepe paper. 1st edition. Somewhat worn on the edges. Name written in the first page ('C. v.d. Woude', a relative by marriage of Huib van Krimpen). One of Takejiro Hasegawa's more sumptuous crepe paper releases for the European and American markets. Extraordinarily beautiful, often moving and serene prints that show Japanese life. (There exists also a later reprint by another publisher (Nishinomiya), with its mark on the lower cover.) |
