The Enschedé type specimens of 1768 and 1773, Amsterdam, De Buitenkant, 1993 (annotated facsimile edition).l A printed overview to showcase printing types (letterproef) available from the famous Dutch (Haarlem based) typefoundry Johan Enschedé. He settled in Holland and left his collection of types to Johan Enschedé upon his death in 1768. Johan Enschedé published this overview of type specimens that same year. In the introduction Enschedé states that since the invention of printing with moveable type, there has been no other type cutter as exceptionally skillful as Fleischman. The overview contains Roman, cursive, Gothic, Hebrew, Syrian, Greek, Arabic, Malaysian and Armenian types and all sorts of decorative elements. Some leaves have been added outside the collation. This copy lacks "Canon Hebreeuwsch", but "Text Armenisch" is present.
