K(...) and a calculation), solid construction, the inside of the front cover shows some water damage and the front endpapers are damaged as well, the rest of the bookblock has little stains and only some light foxing. There is an engraved titlepage by J.C. Philips, a beautiful woodcut printer's mark on the main titlepage, an engraved dedication to Nicolaas Cornelis Hasselaar by H. Post, some decorative initials, and each section of the book is introduced with an engraved title by J.C. Philips. According to other copies there should be a fold out portrait, but that is missing in this copy. It seems to have been torn from between signatures * and **. |
