Engraving and etching on hand laid paper, sheet size 253 x 190 mm. Engraved by Jean Daullé after Joseph Vivien, 1761. Jean Daullé (Abbeville 1703-1763) was a French engraver of high reputation. He primarily made portraits. Worked for Rigaud from 1735. Received at the Académie Royale, 1742. Joseph Vivien (Lyon 1657-1734 Bonn) was a French painter. In good condition, cropped within platemark, some general soiling in the edges and caption below the image. Scattered foxing in the margins and corners of the image area. |
