| Meer info | met tekeningen in zw/wit DR. ALTON GOLDBLOOM, internationally known pediatrician, died on February 3, 1968 in Montreal. He was 77 years old. Born and educated in Montreal, Alton Goldbloom graduated in medicine from McGill University in 1916. His postgraduate work included a year at Boston's Floating Hospital for Children and two years under the late Dr. L. Emmet Holt at New York's Babies Hospital. Finding only a few phy¬ sicians in Montreal beginning to stress child care, he devoted much of his energy to establishing pediatrics as a separate branch of medicine. He was a founder of the Canadian Paediatric Society. Dr. Goldbloom was widely acclaimed for two books: ''Small Patients", his autobiography pub¬ lished in 1959, considered today to be one of the most important autobiographies in medicine, and "The Care of the Child", published in several languages. |
