| Meer info | "In 1976 we conducted a research survey in Australia on 81 rubella handicapped hearing impaired children, 18 of whom had bi-lateral cataracts in addition to their hearing impairment. The mean age of the sample at the time of evaluation was 5;6 years (S.D. 2;0 years). This study was published under the title 'Rubella Handicapped Children', Swets & Zeitlinger B.V. Netherlands 1982. The aim of the initial research study was to determine the effect on behaviour and learning of the 140 variables associated with the viral, medical and psychological states we examined. We hoped that this would, as Van Uden stated in the preface of the publication 'break new grounds for a better diagnosis and treatment of these children'." |
