Here too is information about production techniques, symbolism, purpose, patronage, and trade. The book is beautifully illustrated with 124 color plates; mostly chinese textiles including rank badges, court robes and sleeve bands. Includes a full catalogue of the collection, glossary and 5 maps.91 Color plates, 17 additional figures, and single- and double-page close-up detail views, in which you can count the threads of a golden dragon embroidery.
