| Meer info | - La Compagnie des Secrétaires du Roi (1351-1791) was a prestigious body of royal secretaries in France. It consisted of officials responsible for drafting, registering, and managing official documents and royal decrees. Members had ddministrative Power being directly involved in drafting and archiving royal letters, charters, and decisions. The title of Secrétaire du Roi was considered a highly esteemed position within the French monarchy, granting access to the nobility and certain legal privileges and they enjoyed immunity under the Tribunal des Requêtes, which protected them from ordinary lawsuits. During the French Revolution, the Compagnie was abolished as part of the dismantling of privileges and feudal institutions. |
