| Meer info | Text in English and Dutch. Introduction by Marijke Bouthoorn Verschoor. 'Timothy (Tim) Duncan (1972), grew up in Dublin, Ireland and studied philosophy and art history. He started painting at home when he was 16. In 1990 he had an exhibition at Trinity College. There he showed oil paintings, inspired by Salvador Dali, with great technical mastery and refinement. He has lived in the Netherlands since 1998. After that, he experienced major problems in his personal life for several years. He always picked up the thread through painting. From 2000 he worked on series of pastels, with geometric shapes, structures and human figures in many variations. This was followed by an almost endless series of portraits.' |
