| Meer info | Jewellery, the Choice of… is an ongoing exhibition and publication project conceived to bring contemporary art jewellery to people from cities across the Netherlands. The series started in Amersfoort in 1997 and for each edition, 25 local residents are invited to the gallery to select a piece of work from the Marzee Collection. Photographed and interviewed about their choices, the portraits of these ‘ambassadors for contemporary jewellery’, alongside the pieces of jewellery themselves, are then exhibited in their local museum. This series of books documents each of the events across the Netherlands, with images and details of the work selected to accompany the interviews and portraits. To date, the residents of Amersfoort, Nijmegen, Arnhem, Zwolle, Almere, Apeldoorn, Roermond, Schiedam, Gorcum, Kampen and female members of the European Parliament have participated in this unique project. |
