Every entry is accompanied by full-colour reproductions of miniatures and decorated pages, making the volumes an indispensable reference work for scholars and collectors. Illuminated Manuscripts in Cambridge collates and catalogues hundreds of medieval manuscripts from diverse European regions housed at Cambridge. Volume 1 covers manuscripts from the Frankish kingdoms, the Netherlands and Germany, Bohemia, Hungary and Austria, offering detailed descriptions of their script, illumination style, decoration and historical context. Volume 2 continues with manuscripts from the Meuse region and the Southern Netherlands.
