The content of the book is technical requirements from 10 kyu training degree to 3 dan master degree (punches, blocks, kicks, applications of techniques in during combat, breathing techniques). After each completed technique with photos and description, an advanced interpretation of techniques with a realistic attacking opponent (bunkai) is presented, occasionally presented in other publications, and contains formal exercises of 28 kata forms. With text in English and Swedish (in 1974 the author was invited to Sweden to take control of a small dojo in Uppsala ...) So far, this 2nd edition of Cook's book and the 3rd expanded in two volumes faithful to the style of Kyokushin has been approved by Masutatsu Oyame and considered by him to be one of the best guides for beginners and instructors from 10th Kyu to 3rd Dan that has been published with the presentation of the proper techniques on training in the Kyokushin karate style and the use of these techniques in fights by practitioners of different karate styles.
