| Meer info | This book, first published in 1977, is one of the finest modern bird monographs with 60 superb colour plates by Australian ornithological artist, William T. Cooper, incl. distribution maps and drawings in the text. Depicting all known species of birds of paradise and bower birds in their natural habitats. Wherever possible field sketches made by Cooper during his visits to Papua New Guinea have been used for postures of the birds and for the natural backgrounds. These magnificent portraits are accompanied by a substantial commentary by renowned Australian ornithologist, Joseph Forshaw. Condition: text/plates clean and unmarked, binding strong - just a few tiny spots on cover/end papers and some light external ageing marks top/side of paper block—slipcase stain on front, some marks on back - dj. top corner has tiny tear Format: 41.5x29 cm.
