These are medium-to-large, fruit-eating, arboreal birds endemic to sub-Saharan Africa, known for their bright colours (in turacos), prominent crests, long tails, and weak but agile flight. This exotic, virtually unknown group of birds with their mysterious way of life and still pretty unclear phylogenetic kinship position has attracted the attention of ornithologists and therefore deserves to be brought more into the spotlight of all nature lovers. Voor al uw vragen en/of voor het vrijblijvend aanvragen van een volledige inventaris met alle vogel- en natuurboeken die nog te koop zijn (500+), kunt u contact opnemen met Erna Horn op ernahorn@hotmail.co.uk.
* Ewold signeerde zelf bijna al zijn boeken, en dit feit wordt als zodanig dan ook niet nog extra vermeld in de beschrijving.
