| Meer info | This book is the first (field) guide to birds in the Canary Islands and describes and illustrates not only the 298 adult birds - both nesting and non-nesting - but also the chicks, nests, and eggs of the species that breed in the Canary Islands, located about 100-300 miles off the southern coast of Morocco. With a total of 1,079 colour drawings, 56 black and white drawings, and 102 photographs. The text is concise and refers, above all, to the differences between similar species; in addition, other important characteristics are highlighted, such as vocalisations, size, behaviour, habitat and abundance. Opposite each nesting species there is a distribution map by island. This book will be useful and informative for your trip to any of the Canary Islands. Although the entire book is in Spanish, each bird is listed with its name in Spanish, English, French, and German, as well as its scientific name.
