| Meer info | An undated Taiwanese reprint of a Buddhist school book originally published by the Penang Buddhist Association in Malaysia in 1958. Teaches the basic assets of Buddhism as the four noble truths, the eightfold path, the law of karma written by the monk Sumangalo the buddhist name of the American Robert Stuart Clifton (1905-1963) with a contribution of Ernst K.S. Hunt. Clifton was the founder of the Western Buddhist Order in the USA in 1951. He was initiated as a Theravada monk in Laos in 1957 and travelled to Penang in the same year where he was involved in setting up the Buddhist youth work in Malaysia and the lay buddhist movement in the country. Each chapter contains a simple black and white illustration. |
